The Weathering Bytes

I like how the weather defines our mood. I like this as an ice breaker. Everyone is affected by the weather and it’s only fit that it be used universally as a prompt to make conversation.

What I like most about it is, how it binds us all in this very human emotion: yearning.

We’re not lucky as the lower animal species is who are built for satisfaction. If they don’t find twigs, a small scrap of cardboard is absolutely sufficient for the pigeon to nest. If the squirrel doesn’t find nuts, a fleshy leaf is more than nourishing for its soul.

It’s us humans, that can’t stop lamenting.

Oh, it’s so cold, wish the sun was out.

Oh, it’s so hot, wish we had some rain.

Oh, it’s so rainy, wish we had some respite.

Oh it’s not perfect, wish we could have it all.

But don’t you think, all we need is a change of perspective?

Let everyday be new, and we treat it well because of its novelty.

Not compare it to a day that’s already been lived. We have no idea how many rays of warm sunshine will brighten this cold day. Sit back and stop the control.
